Live hydraulics for H?

I'm adding live hydraulics to my '39 H. I can buy a pump,timing gears and timing gear cover off a junked 300 for about $350. Or I can spend the same money on a aftermarket pump (M&W). My question is this. The M&W pump has NPT threads for the hydraulic hoses, but the pump off the 300 has metal lines with o-rings in the sealing surface. Can I cut the metal lines and use a flare tool and appropriate fittings? Which way would be better?
