How much sludge came out? Both an engine rear seal or transmission leak can give you some sludge as the oil mixes with spent clutch facing. A small amount (a cup or less) shouldn't cause too much trouble. Moisture in the clutch compartment is usually the culprit that causes the discs to stick. Oil in the clutch compartment would help this, a little. Having no pedal resistance would make me check my linkage to be sure everything is pushing and turning like it should. Take off the inspection plate, drain out the sludge, and you should be able to look inside the clutch compartment while a helper runs the pedal. Be sure the "fingers" of the clutch are moving, and that you have some free play.
