If the engine loads when you pull the rod, it tells you things are working and the pump is generating pressure. Don't think there is any filter on the belly pump to service. Just change the oil and put in new non detergent 30 wt oil. Very important that it be NON DETERGENT oil. If you want to find out how good it is working, get a pressure gage (Northern Tool has hydraulic gages) and screw it in one of the outlets and then activate the system to read the pressure. You should get a pressure of 800 to 850 psi.
