Yes, it's probably running too rich...a common problem. Unless the main jet has been fooled with, the only thing you can do is lower the fuel level in the bowl by bending the float. Forget the specs...they were written for different fuel than we have now. You will have to experiment a bit to get it right. The lower the level, the leaner it will run. You may lose a little power if you get it lean enough to run well. George Willer
