Were IH gaskets used in the rebuild?? My C had the problem, and I know the specs call for 65 ft lbs, but my IH dealer told me to torque it to 80 which I did and that stopped the leaks. Also the engine should be warm when you torque the bolts. I suppose there is some risk of twisting off a stud doing that. Also, I have heard that IH gaskets seem to do better than some of the aftermarket gaskets. From my experience, I think this is a fairly common problem with this engine.
