The horse power race in cars also got to farmers big time. Example:My 50 year old uncle had to have a new Chev with biger cube engine and 3 duce carb setup. He was a life long devoted farmer who enjoyed newer and better tractors as well as cars. It was the thing to do back then. Every horse extra gained tractor and car sales. R.
