Yes, I know what you mean about power. I never thought it lacked for traction because with the duals, front weights and fluid in the tires it weighed over 20000 pounds. It just didn't have the throttle response the 1256 had. The 1256 would pull the same loads at the same speeds and seemed to have just a little more reserve power. Believe it or not that 1256 dynoed 185 hp. It had the pump overhauled after accidently being filled with 15 gal of gasoline and came back from the IH shop with more power than we had ever seen before. Honest to God it put out 185 horses.
