Duey the first two things I would tackle is getting it to start better and the steering. Take the tin off and remove that large nut on the upper bolster. I bet there is a problem with the ball bearing unit on the end of the steering rod. when Slo Mo and I moved Old Rusty H about a month ago, I had the same problem with the steering. The castle nut was stripped on the steering shaft which allowed that bearing to float around in the bolster case. I had about the same type of steering response.
