Bryan--I wasn't trying to talk you out of buying the tractor, just trying to give you an idea what it would cost to fix it with you doing the work. A mechanic's bill might make the deal not so good but if you are handy you could make it worth your while. $1800 isn't a bad price in that respect. I spent many hours on our 706 and it was a good rig overall. Good luck!
