the origional magneto available on the letter series farmalls was a international h-4, a good stout easy to maintain magneto. the last time i checked i could get points and condenser for it at the local auto parts store (like nappa). i don't remember a spark advance on that magneto. i think a lot of those magnetos were replaced with distributors in the field, in later years. check with some of the older collectors of the letter series on those facts, cause i don't get into those farmalls much. you might check into getting the bushings replaced in the distributor and that would fix a lot of your erattic running problems.
