We have this 4 bottom 14inch spring trip plow with super chief bottoms that needs some work. We pull with a Farnall 450 which is a good match. The plow has a fast hitch and is an early "semi-mounted" type with a cylinder assisted caster tail wheel. The frogs are worn and the plow points get bent down due to the lack of support from the worn out frogs. This winter i am going to look for used parts and wonder if most IH plows use the same frogs? are the frogs the same from the 16 inch plows as well? Do you think I can update the plow with better coulters, maybe spring loaded type? what would be a good coulter to substitute?
