When I aquired my 504, a gas model it just had its engine done. I was trying to decide whether to trade my 300 or the 504 on the 1066. The previous owner advised me that when they took the 504 engine apart it did not have sleeves. That alone made me back off from this tractor. Prior to that the only Farmall I had ever heard of without sleeves was the cub. One day I hooked both the 300 and the 504 to 3x16 trailer plow, and I wasn't long deciding which one to keep. I must say I still find it hard to believe a Farmall without sleeves. Anyone any input on that? Like yours this tractor only had about 1800 hours, and at that time my old 300 had been through 4 sets of pistons and sleeves, and only god knows how many hours, it didn't have a meter.
