We used to have an old Case baler with a Wisconsin 4 cylinder engine.. Flat belt ran from the engine to a 5 foot flywheel. It used to take hours getting the thing to run first thing in the spring. Then one day dad took the belt off the flywheel and put it on the old Regular. It still took a while to work all the junk out of the engine but at least I did not have to crank it by hand. We got to the point where instead of using the crank to start it during the haying season we would grab that big flywheel and put a foot on one of the spokes and turn it to start it. I still wonder how I made it to adulthood. I guess OSHA didn't visit farms in those days.
