Did your brakes cease to work all at once or was it a gradual loss. The dealer told me that the brake problem was seldom inside the transmission and was more often in the Master Cylinders. I don't remember the cost, but it was not that expensive to put a kit in the cylinders. It would be smarter to try that than to open the rearend of the tractor to inspect the brakes. On a seperate issue how many of you now face the chalenge of replacing the fabric insulated wiring in your mid 70's IH tractors? Mine was always shedded, but time has gotten to the wiring.
