Duey- I still got one of them "spark intensifyer" gadgets laid back in my tool box. Long ago I took one apart and found a couple of used generator brushes separated by a thick stack of mica washers and all packed in the little round gadget that plugged into the coil or distributor cap hole. The interesting thing about it is is that it works and is based on sound physics. The way it operates is also told about in the Model T Ford operator books as an emergency response to a fouled spark plug while on the road. In later years, during the 60's, Champion Spark plugs had a "Booster Gap" spark plug product. It was identified by the letter "U" as the beginning of the plug number, e.g. UJ-19Y was highly resistant to oil fouling. What happens is that the gap in the high voltage path causes the coil voltage to rise high enough to jump the "booster gap" and then the spark plug gap, instead of just bleeding off across a carbon fouled spark plug center electrode. Supposedly, the booster gap plug design got into trouble with FCC radio frequency interference rules and was discontinued during the 1970's. Yep Duey, there's some interesting gadgets in our technical history. IHank

When Push Comes to Shove - by Dave Patterson. When I was a “kid” (still am to a deree) about two I guess, my parents couldn’t find me one day. They were horrified (we lived by the railroad), my mother thought the worst: "He’s been run over by a train, he’s gone forever!" Where did they find me? Perched up on the seat of the tractor. I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
