Hank, I just can't pass this up. You can joke about it until it gets serious though. We had a fellow years ago that was in the process of repairing his tractor, happened to also be a 450 Farmall. It appears the tractor had a picker mounted on it when it caught fire due to unknown cause, uhhuuummm. Well so the story goes he replaced a lot of things to be sure. Well it came to the carburetor, which being cast iron, held up pretty good considering the heat and all. The float and such was garbage, so got the parts, put it together. Guess what? It run for crap, he couldn't figure it out. Brought the carburetor down one day and says see what you can find. Well upon disassembling it I couldnt find the venturi. When I showed him the new one he says that's what that hard chunk was that I had to chisel off. Nuff said.
