Steven: I am just as vocal a promoter of Farmalls as you are. Having said that I believe it was due in part to the IH dealer we had while I was farming. I know that if I had the same exposure to any of the other American built rowcrops, it could have been any one of them. When American built row crops adopted the Ferguson system, it made a better tractor than Ferguson ever did. Just look at the advantage of moving the operator ahead almost two feet. It made for comfortable operation on a long day. That big flat platform, armchair seat, man it made those long days a lot easier to tolerate. You name it Fast Hitch or Three Point Hitch, that was personal preference. Its where they placed the operator that mattered. Why not name your class, Farming with your butt five feet off the ground. It will keep the other guys happy.
