I think you got a bit crossed up on your definition of supercharger vs. turbosupercharger. Supercharger is the more general term, but is usually applied to a mechanically driven compressor. The dragsters with a GM blower, driven by a belt with a carburetor on top are an example. A turbosupercharger is one where the compressor is powered by an exhaust driven turbine, hence the prefix "turbo." There were several factory installations of this type back in the '60s. As far as I know, all of these compressors worked on the mixture after it came out of the carburetor (which would fit your defintion of "internally driven").
