Mark,I had the same problem with my M.I thought I had put something back together wrong,but later dicovered that paint,new bushings in the bolster,and a new bearing on the end of the shaft made for a harder to steer M.time has since loosesed it up.In your case,make sure you have put it back together right.Maybe you overlooked somethig?!Good luck.
