I agree that getting the two halve perfectly square is necessary. Use longer bolts to get it lined up and measure like the previous post said. Make sure your transmission is in neutral get the splines on the shaft as close to the same position as the clutch splines as you can. Not sure what kind of splines the 300 has, but with the 6 spline shafts on the A and C, I just put a notch on the clutch disk at the top and then the mating spline on the shaft also at the top. Then measure and jack to get the surfaces parallel, put in the long bolts and it should slide right together, maybe with a little jiggling of the shaft.
