Brad warm up the engine. Set the throttle at high speed. Lean the high speed mixture screw until the engine starts to lose RPM. Then open it back up a 1/2 turn. The high speed screw is the angled one on the bottom of the carburetor.

Spark plug wise, I use champion D21 or AC C86. I have a coffee can full of Champion D15s. They don't fire very well in 87 octane gas.
