Tom, I think that you are on the right track with the MC and Bx cable. The only problem that I see is that from what I have seen on the job these cables usually have solid wire inside.Also I think that BX cable has a paper insulator wrapped around the wires. They also are available in either galvanized steel or aluminum cladding. I have seen cables on appliances and light fixture that have stainless steel cladding with 16GA and 18GA stranded wire. If you could find this on the internet or at an appliance repair shop it might work if all else fails. Dale, if you find something that works please post. I am also rebuilding 300U that is missing the original wiring.
