Wide Front Experts- My wide front spindle bearings are in bad shape. Looking at it from the front I can see what looks like gross wear in the lower spindle and/or bushing, because they are splayed outward. The thrust bearings seem to be in bad shape, because with much load in the front loader bucket the steering jams up and I have to use the brakes to manuver. I would like any and all with experience in renovating wide fronts to speak up here and now, before I get into a mess any further than I am. The WF looks like an aftermarket system. It's heavy steel tubes that telescope together and have many bolt holes to fasten it to the desired size. Steering rods are behind the axel. The spindles have a splined top end. The steering arms are cut from thick steel plate and used a pinch clamp bolt to hold it in place. Sometime in the life of the system the steering arms were arc welded to the shaft. Yep, looks like a difficult take apart job! The tractor has power steering. The top end worm gear unit is in good shape and has a new ball bearing on the worm shaft. As of now it's looking like I'm possibly gonna need a pair of new spindles, and for sure new bushings and thrust bearings. Please, give any advise and tales from your experiences with wide front renovations. Many thanks, IHank in Iowa
