You might or might not get more RPM. M RPM only runs around 1,600. With the engine off, remove the side plate on the governor housing. You will see a yoke on the left with two adjusting bolts. The lower bolt is the high speed adjustment. If very much of that bolt is showing left of that yoke, loosen the locking nut and turn the bolt counter clockwise so less bolt is showing left of the yoke. Tighten down the locking nut, install the cover and fire her up and see if you pick up RPM. Let us know if this helps.
