70hp Super WD-6

Not long ago I sold my Super WD6 "tank." In the mid-1960's it received the "powerpack" rebuild, which allowed it in 1998 to dyno (without smoke) at 65hp PTO, and it could hold the dyno at 70hp for a good half-minute before she would start to fall off. She would rarely smoke, even when chopping a stand that would hammer hard on my snappy Super M (gas). The beast was truly an impressive machine. However, it was loose-footed with all that power applied to its 30" rubber. Stock weights and chloride didn't cure it. When I developed shoulder and wrist problems, I had too painful a time steering it, which is why I eventually sold it. Something tells me I shoulda held on to it anyway. It had the M&W "live PTO" hand clutch, which was real handy when baling. I've heard there weren't many SWD-6's made, much rarer than my SMDTA, in fact, there were many more OS-4 "orchards" made than SWD-6's! I found that hard to believe, but apparently the numbers don't lie. A fellow gave $3500 for the SWD-6. It had been 100% cosmetically restored with correct US-made decals a year before I sold it. Do I kick myself, or not?
