560 differential

There are two differential bull pinions available for a 560. The book says the shape of the teeth is different. Is this difference quite obvious when you have two on the bench? Also my old bearing was really bad - no cage left and it has 6 balls, the replacement has the same part number but 8 balls. I don't see how 2 could have gotten out of there without a lot of damage. Could the bearing have the same number and be that much different? Thanks and happy new year.
