Here's how I did it: Run a cable from the negative post of the car battery to the negative post of the tractor battery. Next, run a cable from the positive post of the car battery to the FRAME(fender, etc.) of the tractor(since Cubs are positive-ground). Don't put it on the positive post of the tractor battery - if the connection sparks and the battery is putting out a little bit of hydrogen gas, KABOOM!! You won't like it a little bit - if you survive the battery explosion. Reverse the order of connection to disconnect the cables. Don't let it run on the jumpers any longer than necessary, or you'll fry the coil and burn the points. If your Cub is negative ground, just follow the instructions above, with the exception of clamping the positive cable to the tractor battery and the negative cable to the tractor frame(fender, etc.)
