Jim run a wire from the armature/generator post on the generator to the gen post on the regulator. Run a wire from the field post on the generator to the field post on the regulator. The thicker wire from the light box should be connected to the bat post on the regulator. But before you do that, open up the light box and make sure the thicker wire it hooked to the negative side of the ampmeter along with the coil wire and the wire to the light switch assembly. The thinner wire should be hooked to the very bottom screw on the light assembly next to that flat resistor assembly. I gather you have a 4 position light switch for low charge, high charge, dim lights, bright lights? The thinner wire should be hooked to the field post on the generator from the light box.
