Motionless Cub

My '47 Cub has become motionless. I was pushing a little snow, (2") and I shifted into reverse, backed up went to make another pass down the driveway, and when I shifted into forward again, the tractor wouldn't move. Now it doesn't have any movement forward or reverse. The engine runs fine, there was no noise of any type before or after shifting. When I let the clutch out, I can hear the transmission turning, and when I try to shift with the clutch out the gears grind. I haven't had time to pull the cover yet to see what's going on. Shifter forks jammed? Any help would be appreciated.
