Was just talking to a local machinist yesterday and we were talking about the "old ways" of overhauling engines. He said crankshafts used to be ground while in the block. And they only ground down the one that was the problem instead of all of them!

Dad had a car one time that spun a rod bearing, he replaced it with a heavy piece of leather and drove really slow to the car dealer and traded it off!
