I bought the hood offered without the hooks and was very happy. Installing the old hooks on the new hood proved a bit of a challenage and one that required four hands instead of two. Frankly, I did not notice the gauge difference between my orginal and the new one. It did require a bit of hand reforming for it to lay parallel to the hood and gas tank. He was also really great to deal with. He sent the hood and then I sent the money after inspecting it. That's a great deal.
