Man, all this info is sure interesting. Our antique power and equipment club had a McCormick-Deering ensilage cutter to paint last spring. It was about the last one IH made with 4 steel wheels, flywheel type, mounted knives on flywheel, etc. In the late 40's we bought one on our farm quite similar to this one except it had only three wheels with rubber tires and you swivveled the pull tongue under the feed apron when you set it up to fill silo. Anyhow the paint scheme was different on the two machines, the newer one was all red, while the older one had blue areas with cream wheels--looked neat though.
