At some point in it's history, a previous owner of my H sheared off the pin on the hand crank shaft and took to using a pipe wrench on it. The shaft, needless to say, is bent and scarred up from the abuse. I would like to replace the shaft, but can't seem to get it apart. I've removed the retaining clip and tried to dis-assemble the ratchet assembly without luck. Has anyone taken these apart before? I believe that the two pieces of the assembly are threaded together, but I can't tell from the parts manual. I've also tried putting a strap wrench on the ratchet and turning the shaft in reverse with a pipe wrench and it won't budge. I guess if I have to I could saw the shaft in half and pull it out to work on it on the bench. If anyone has any experience with these parts I appreciate the advice.
