My F-12 does the same thing, and I also use my foot, carefully!, to slow it down if in a hurry. I usually just throttle it down before stopping so the wait isn't long. I think the pulley was standard, but I did find a shaft cover so it could be taken off if not needed or would be in the way of some equipment. On the 10-20s the pully was to be removed when doing field work so the weight of the pulley wouldn't brindell the bearings, those pulleys are heavy.10-20s had a cover bolted right on to the top of the gear case so it was handy. Those pullys could be turned off though when not needed. Since the F-12 pulley runs all the time it may be easier on the bearings if going over rough ground.
