The acid in the tank cleaning products is phosriphic acid. (dont know if i spelled it right). You can get it at hardware stores. It does a better job on rust. Rinse with acetone. You will need a sealer such as Kreem or one of the other products mentioned to keep it from rusting again. Kreem has a kit with everything you need. One jar of sealer is probablyy enough but the acid is only enough for one motorcycle tank. You can usually find it at motorcycle stores, or at least they may be albe to order it.
