Lights on IH 140

I have been restoring a 1970 model IH 140 and I am almost finished. I had to buy a new light switch and last night I got all the lights working. My question is what is the purpose of the high and low beams on this tractor, I have never ran one after dark to see what the difference is but I have not ever seen this feature on any other tractor that I have used. The ones I have used it always seems the brighter the better. Thanks for any responce
