I have simply stuck a magnet on the bottom of the tank away from the outlet and it attracts the rust. Probably a lazy mans approach and not the best way but it has worked. I'm sure it is better to clean it out but if you are in the middle of the season and having the problem it might help you keep going. If you have time and energy do it the right way the way the guys suggest. Ron
