I grew up in the heart of the western NY state wheat county - in the township of Wheatland in fact. Despite the town name and the many wheat growers then (and continuing today), row crop tractors were all I ever saw as a kid. There were a few O-4's and O-6's (also JD AO's and BO's) around in the lakeside apple orchards, and of course the usual presence of "N" Fords. But standard tread tractors otherwise were very rare here indeed.
