I am no expert, but my thoughts would be that if you had it plumbed backwards it would run in reverse of what you would think. If it doesn't work at all, is the pump getting fuild. When I put my PTO pump on for the backhoe, it was easy to reverse those couplers. That would cause fuild to not get into the pump because the pump is pushing the fuild out.
