The overall length is 11 1/4 from the top of the pipe to the end of the dipstick with the full mark at 9 1/4 down. The pipe should stick out of the case about 1 inch, if it;s longer or there is a tee installed for a return line adjust the dipstick length to suit. Hope this helps, Ed
