Back in the early sixties, one of our less gifted employees caught an axle of our Super C on a tree and cracked the transmission case where the axle housing bolts in. The dealer replaced it, to the tune of about $350, real money in those days. The new housing was machined to take either the disk brakes of the Super C, or the band brakes of the C. As I recall the bushings were even in it for the short actuating shaft for the bands. I still have the tractor, and will have to check. I would bet that a C housing would take the disk brakes directly, but a Super would need the holes drilled and tapped for the band cover, and the hole made for the short shaft, if you wanted to go the other way. I don't know if the top covers are the same, but I don't see why they wouldn't be.
