John, I responded yesterday to your post but it must not have gone through, so I'll try again. I don't have my manuals with me but I believe the IH-340 U is rated at around 34 hp both at the drawbar and at the pto. It is a 4 cylinder with 153 c.i. engine. It is not a light-weight - I think it weighs 4440 lbs. Mine has an independent pto. I just bought mine and have learned to watch out for steering problems with this model-must be a weak link for them as other people I've talked to have also had steering problems. Parts are not easy to find either, I ended up getting my parts from a salvage yard in Ontario after an extensive search here in the states. If you want/need more info. Email me and I'll get my books.
