I don't know. It appears to me on my tractor, from the approximate spacing, to be maybe 4 or 5 degrees "after" top-dead-center. Maybe they wanted two marks to make them together more visible, particularly when you speed up the engine and look for the advance position. Back when I did a lot of this stuff on cars, before electronic ignition, the markings for timing would often be strange. I've even seen holes drilled and used for marks. Who knows. Sorry. RK Smith
