I either cut them apart with a razor saw or pry the lip of the ring up. If I cut them apart, I glue them back together with JB weld. I have collected several junk gauges and mix and match
parts.To put the ring back on just crimp the lip back down with smooth jaw pliers. This all takes
a lot of patience.
