These days, they call mixed products on one line "flexible manufacturing" and they act like it is a new concept. Wendel's "150 Years of IH" has a war production picture of gun mounts going down the line with a tractor mixed in. When I worked at a factory, I kept a copy of that picture on the wall of my office. I think the point was missed on most people.
