Depends on the loader, quite frankly.
If you buy a modern quick-attach loader with the brackets for a 504, it's a matter of bolting on a few relatively lightweight brackets, and driving into the loader. The hydraulics of the tractor do all the heavy lifting.
If you buy an older period-correct loader for the 504 with the correct brackets for a 504, then it's a bolt-on affair, but there is a bit of heavy lifting involved to get the major pieces of the loader installed. Bring lots of friends and a large bottle of aspirin.
If you buy a loader that wasn't designed for the 504, you get to figure out how to make it work with a torch and welder. Lots of heavy lifting.
