140 clutch

Putting together a 140, need to know how clutch plate is oriented - does 'snout' on clutch plate go in toward motor or towards the transmission. I have been told that it goes towards the motor, but spring cage seems to hit on the flywheel bolt retainers. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
