Kirk, After you get the engine out and completely disassembled, take the whole thing, including the nuts and bolts to a good machine shop. They can measure your crank, rods, pistons, cam, lifters and anything else necessary to a rebuild and tell you EXACTLY what is needed to do the job right. They will have all the tools to do the job and then they can "hot tank" or "boil out" the block, head and small parts so you start with a CLEAN engine that will be just like new when you're done putting it back together. I like to use a shop that's associated with a parts store so when I pick up the block, head, etc. they have gotten all the parts together I need to complete the reassembly and I usually don't need to make more trips to town for parts/supplies. Ask around and see who your friends and neighbors recommend. One alternative if you don't want to do the work yourself is to take the tractor to a Vo-Tech school. They'll do the work, you just buy the parts. The instructor usually manages the job and you get a new engine for a lot less than having a commercial shop do the work. Sounds like you want to do this yourself, but that is an option if you get in a time/money pinch. Phil
