let me back up slightly. the $2,500 mentioned is probably a little rich for rebuilt cost, but not really if you "go for it," in which case you could spend even more. One thing for sure - - if you have the place to keep it, even if you don't restore it, you could surely get "$400 plus" out of it just "parting it out."
