Is it an unstyled crawler or is it styled (sheet metal sorta resmbels M-D W-6 or W-9 or even Farmall M if it's styled). If its a crank start it's probably a T-35 or T-40, both of which were unstyled and ended production in 1939. I'm not sure but I don't think the ones made in the 40's had to be started with gas. The T-35s & T-40s were started with gas and after 600 revolutions automaticaly switched to diesel. If its a TD-40 it will have 5 track rollers, a TD-35 has 4. I know a guy who has a TD-40 and I think he paid $6500 for it, it runs good, has nice sheet metal and a dozer blade on it. I don't know what a TD-35 would worth, their smaller but rarer than TD-40's. I myself have 2 T-20's that belonged to my grandfather and were made during the same time as the TD-35&40, their probably the most common of the old IH crawlers. They were never made to run on diesel. I'm not sure if TD-35s&40s ever came with eletric start, some later T-20s could be bought with electric start. If yours does not have one, I'd imagine it'd be pretty tough to find the right parts. Jeff W.
